Barania Góra is a mountain that separates the Bielsko and Żywiecki poviats. According to the map of Jonasz Nigrini from 1724. in the area of Barania Góra there were several shepherd's huts. The history of Hala Barania is inherent in the pastoral economy that has taken place here for many years. The creation of the name has several hypotheses related to its shape, which resembles a ram, and another legend says about a tragic fire as a result of which 300 rams burned. (Cicha 2011: 13). The modern shepherd's hut is located in a large clearing under Barania Góra within the borders of the commune of Kamesznica. Her new story is associated with the figure of Piotr Kohut, who returned with the sheep to this place. A shepherd's house was rebuilt here and it is now a sheep grazing place. The shepherd's structure is based on solid logs - round logs, a low-log building with walls connected to the roof with remnants. The 3rd Carpathian Congress was held at Hala Barania.
