Sheep are milked in the morning and evening (and sometimes also at noon). It takes two to two people to milk the whole flock (herd). In the past, shepherds magically protected their hands in case of pain during milking. They rubbed their hands with garlic, called a white herb in the dialect. Strąge as well as the whole barracks can be moved to a convenient place, usually depending on the progress in barracking (fertilizing) the meadow. The Strążyska Valley in the Western Tatras, the Strążyska Glade and the Strążyskie Chimneys took its name from this partition.
