Cheese triumphed in Ustrzyki Dolne

On Sunday, June 16 this year, the 2nd Podkarpackie Cheese Festival took place in Ustrzyki Dolne during the 4th Festival of Local and Traditional Products. During this event, over 50 cheese producers took part in the organized competition for 'The Best Cheese Product 2019'.

The winners of the competition in the cow cheese category were:  

• Jacek Skórka from Ustrzyki Górne for the cheese of Wurda cow,

• Leda Cheese Leszek Jakimowicz from Wólka Krowicka for white cheese in pepper coating,

• Justyna Serwońska from Nagórzany for rennet cheese with herbs,

• Zbigniew Mazur from Łężany for PIAST rennet cheese,

• Bożena Wisła from Bukowiec for cheese braid.

Awards in this category were received by:

• Małgorzata Łysyganicz from Polana for Polan cheese with bear garlic,

• Krzysztof Gardzielik from Manaster for rennet cheese with herbs,

• Teresa Nycz from Błędowa Tyczyńska for natural cheese, white curd,

• Molendini sp. Z o. O. From Sokołów Małopolski for white cheese with linseed oil,

• Association of Women Housewives from Jasienica Rosielna for cow cheese with toppings.

In the sheep cheese category, the winner was Marcin Misiura from Średnie Wielkie for Bieszczady white cheese and Władysław Misiura for Bieszczady smoked cheese.

In the goat cheese category, the main prize went to Miłosz Dybowski from Smolnik on the San for Chryszczaty ripening goat cheese, Zbigniew Wantuła from Wisłok Wielki received the second prize in this category for smoked cheese from the Wisłoka Valley, and Magdalena Strzęp from Dydnia for the goat cheese with herbs.
