Opening of Bacówka on Pietroszonce

This ceremony was preceded by an organized in the Beskid Museum. A. Podżorski in Wisła popular-scientific conference entitled "The Beskids archives of Professor Mieczysław Gładysz". Among the many topics raised by the speakers related to life and research work of prof. Gładysz took the important place of the issue of his relations with the Silesian Beskids, and in this particularly charming hamlet of Istebna - Pietroszonka, where the memory of both the professor and his students is alive today.

After the conference, interested participants went to the grand opening of Bacówka on Pietroszonka. It was consecrated by Father Boguchwał Orczyk , and the brothers Łukasz and Paweł Kukuczka took care of the musical setting. A brief lecture on shepherd's dishes was presented by the initiator of many shepherd events in our area and the propagator of Carpathian culture - Józef Michałek . All those gathered with great hospitality were treated by the hosts of this place - the Kawulok and Gala families. There was fresh bundz, bryndza, oscypek and zyntyrzy, as well as herbal and goulash teas.

The herd of over 200 sheep will be grazed until the end of September on Stecówka, Pietroszonka and Złote Gronie, also during spring and summer hiking in the mountains shepherds will be found on the trail, then it is worth asking about the possibility of buying delicious, authentic, traditionally made sheep cheese. However, for those who would prefer to take a car after such a purchase, we recommend the house of the hosts in the Beskids (near Pizzeria in Józef's).
