Rozsod Sheep Stecówka

Every year, this event ends the grazing period in the halls. The days are getting colder, the grass turns yellow after the first frosts, it is a sign that it is time to return home, divide the flock among the owners of individual flocks and divide the cheese produced during grazing.

Early in the afternoon, shepherds and sheep arrived at Stecówka, where in the meadow near the church the Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Stecówka - Fr. Grzegorz Kotarba presided over the common prayer and sacrificed the herd. Rozsod is a time to thank God for happy, safe grazing and shepherds for the hardships of their daily work, without which a Carpathian identity could not exist.

Disruption was accompanied by music performed by the band "Jetelinka", as well as rich hospitality. There were also traditional potato pancakes, goulash, baked sausages, cheese and sweet buns. There was also a stand with wicker baskets for wood and autumn harvest in the orchard, as well as a handicraft stall.

Rozsod Sheep at Stecówka was one of the events on the Wallachian Culture Trail. Not only shepherds took part in it, but also numerous inhabitants of the Beskid Triwsi, tourists and guests. There were also local self-government authorities - the Head of the Istebna Commune Henryka Gazurka with his wife, Councilor of the Poviat Łucja Michałek and the Councilor of the Commune of Istebna Józef Michałek , who was also one of the initiators and organizers of Rozsód.
