Shepherd's hut has been run for many generations by the family Hyrczyk. It was located in a place easily accessible and attractive from a tourist point of view: on the edge of the Orava-Nowogród peat bogs, by the educational path leading deep into the peat bogs and near the bicycle path, as well as by the 957 road leading from Czarny Dunajec towards Piekielnik.
A herd of sheep grazing on Baligówka counts several hundred sheep. The animals are grazed in a large area of several dozen hectares. Here, cheese is produced: oscypki, bundz, bryndze and żentyca . Bacówka is located on the Oscypek Trail. Five dogs are guarding the sheep, because there are flocks of wolves in peat bogs.
Both shepherds are professional shepherds who have completed a Bacowski course and passed their exams. They also have European certificates for sheep's milk products.
As part of the implementation of the Wallachian Culture Trail project, the shepherd's hut was equipped with shepherd's exhibits: a cutter, a copper cauldron, forms for oscypek and redykołki, a scoop, bells for sheep, a knuckle, a Bacca hairpin and a Juhaska hairpin, a shelf for oscypek cheese, ceramic mugs, a Bac belt, juhaska, drinker and broth.
