Bacówka, Istebna Stecówka

Kategoria: Architecture

Shepherd's hut is particularly important in shepherd rituals in the Silesian Beskids. Here, in 2004, sheep mews and sheep breeding were recultivated - the feast of departure and return of sheep from the halls. Similarly as in other parts of the region, the Sałashnik economy is practiced here - consisting in grazing a herd consisting of several smaller ones under one shepherd. Bacówka belongs to Henryk Kukuczka who runs an agritourism farm. This object is located on the trail leading to Barania Góra, so it is a place of living tradition of sheep grazing. Shepherd's hut belongs to the Sheep's Trail of the Sheep + Program. Architectural description: A contemporary shepherd's hut erected on a low framework on which the rafter construction of a widely spread roof rests. The entrance is located in the gable wall and slightly withdrawn inside.
